Our showroom sits on N 24th Ave in north Phoenix — twenty to thirty minutes from most of Scottsdale, and open Monday to Friday 9 to 3 without an appointment. For clients in South Scottsdale — McCormick Ranch, Gainey Ranch, Old Town — it's a short hop, and we're glad to set up a one-on-one showing of everything we carry.

For North Scottsdale — DC Ranch, Silverleaf, Troon, Grayhawk, Windy Walk and the communities around them — a lot of clients would rather we came to them. We hand-pick samples against what you've described, bring them to the house, take field measurements and inspect the subfloor while we're there.

Either way, you're seeing boards you can take home. Showroom light flatters everything; your own hallway at four in the afternoon tells the truth.

Windy Walk Estates — a Spanish Territorial masterpiece

The project we'd point at first. A home in the North Scottsdale foothills where the hardwood runs into a floating wall board rather than stopping at a baseboard, curves around an undercut in the drywall, and meets brick in a flush transition. Territorial interiors have no trim to hide behind, so every cut is on permanent display.

Whole-house installations

Elsewhere in Scottsdale we've run hardwood through entire residences, including one where the kitchen shows the workmanship best and where floor outlets had to be planned into the layout rather than cut in afterwards. Another Scottsdale home used hardwood throughout to accent a marble fireplace, with an undercut installation beneath southwest adobe-inspired walls.

Children's rooms, and everything less glamorous

Not every job is a feature. We've done single rooms in Scottsdale for clients who wanted carpet gone and something that could survive kids.

What Scottsdale houses need

Engineered construction, almost always. Scottsdale homes are slab-on-grade like the rest of the Valley. Engineered hardwood's cross-grained core is what makes wide plank possible here at all — a wide solid board on a slab in this climate would spend its life opening and closing joints.

Slab flatness, taken seriously. The wide plank and long-board floors that suit these houses are the least forgiving of an uneven slab. Grinding and filling to a proper tolerance isn't optional, and it's a large part of why we do our own tile removal and slab preparation rather than inheriting somebody else's.

UV-aware finishes. Big glass, long sightlines and hard desert light are exactly the conditions that fade pigment and amber resin unevenly. Lower sheens and considered finish systems keep a floor looking uniform instead of mapping out where the rugs used to be.

Community rules. Many Scottsdale communities set working hours, delivery windows and contractor parking rules. Tell us which community at the estimate stage and it goes into the schedule.
