Our showroom is on N 24th Ave in north Phoenix — a short drive from most of Paradise Valley, and open Monday to Friday 9 to 3 with no appointment needed. Call ahead and we'll pull the relevant boards so a visit is a decision rather than a browse.
Most of our Paradise Valley clients prefer the other route. We take a brief over the phone — rooms, style, what's on the floor now, what the floor has to live next to — then arrive at the house with hand-picked samples chosen against it, take accurate field measurements and inspect the subfloor. You see the boards in the light they'll actually live in, against your own cabinetry and stone.
Our Paradise Valley work
One Paradise Valley residence runs several different hardwoods through a single home — different species and finishes in different areas, with the transitions planned so they read as intentional. That's harder than it sounds. Change species without a plan and the house reads as a patchwork; change it with one, and each space gets its own character while the whole thing still hangs together.
It's the same discipline that runs through our work in neighbouring Scottsdale, including the Windy Walk Estates Spanish Territorial where the floor meets the walls with no trim at all.

What works in these houses
Width, because of the sightlines. Paradise Valley homes tend to be open and horizontal, with long uninterrupted views through the house and out of it. A 3¼-inch strip floor draws a line every three inches and chops that up. Wide plank at seven inches and up halves the seams and lets the eye travel — which is the whole reason wide boards took over the top of the market.
European oak, because of the light. French oak is graded for character rather than uniformity, and its calm grain sits quietly under a lot of natural light instead of shouting. Wire-brushed textures hide the fine abrasion desert dust causes; lower sheens hide everything else.
Engineered, because of the slab. Non-negotiable here as everywhere in the Valley. Cross-grained construction is what allows a wide board to stay flat on concrete in air that's bone-dry nine months of the year.
Slab preparation, because of the width. The wider the board, the more mercilessly it telegraphs a slab that wasn't ground flat. It's the single most common reason a good floor feels wrong underfoot.
Working around a household
Sanding runs on dust containment, tile removal is captured at the tool, and we work room by room where the layout allows it. One client with five indoor cats ended up leaving the house to go shopping while we worked. That's the standard we aim at.

Can you run several different floors through one house?
Yes, and we have. One Paradise Valley residence uses different species and finishes in different parts of the home. The skill is in planning the transitions so they read as deliberate design decisions rather than as places where one contractor stopped and another started.
What's the best floor for a large home with a lot of glass?
Wide plank engineered European oak in a low sheen, in most cases. Wide boards suit long open sightlines, engineered construction handles the slab, and a lower sheen stops hard desert light turning a great room into a mirror — while also fading far less visibly than a dark stain under UV.
Do you handle resort and estate-scale projects?
We work on large residential projects and alongside builders and interior designers on custom homes. Scale is less of a constraint than schedule and detail — tell us the square footage and the dates and we'll say honestly whether we're the right fit.
Will the work disrupt the household?
Less than most people fear. Sanding runs on a dust-containment system, tile removal is contained at the tool, and we work room by room where the layout allows. Clients with pets have left us alone in the house after a couple of days, which is the compliment we value most.
